Glass Bottled 100% A2A2 Raw Jersey milk and Raw Nubian Goat milk
What is A2A2 milk?
It is believed that all cows used to have the A2A2 beta casein in their milk, but due to a genetic mutation, some began producing A1A2 beta casein, which studies show can cause an inflammatory response in the body. The vast majority of milk available commercially in this country is A1A2, which leads many people to believe that they're lactose intolerant, when in reality, they're just sensitive to the A1 protein. Our milk is from 100% A2A2 Jersey cows, as confirmed by genetic testing (contrary to popular belief, not all Jerseys are A2A2), and is able to be enjoyed by many people who believe themselves to be lactose intolerant, or otherwise sensitive to milk. Goat milk, and human breast milk, are also naturally A2A2.
Facts about Raw Milk:
Raw milk contains numerous probiotics, enzymes, vitamins and nutrients, including enzymes that aid in the digestion of lactose, which also makes it easier for the body to digest and utilize. The process of pasteurization damages, or destroys these nutrients. Numerous studies have shown that raw milk, when handled properly, is safe to consume, and also has a host of health benefits. Our SC Grade A Raw milk is held to the highest standards of cleanliness, and our milk and bottles are tested frequently by the state to ensure that both are clean, free of pathogens, and safe for human consumption. In addition, we hold ourselves to an even higher standard by doing regular on farm testing...something that is not required, but that we choose to do, in order to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our milk, and the health of our animals.
Why glass? The answer is simple...milk just tastes better, and stays colder, in glass. The glass bottles also help to maintain the freshness of our milk. Choosing to bottle in glass was far from the cheapest, or easiest decision, but it was definitely the best decision. There is a refundable bottle deposit, and we appreciate bottle returns, as it helps us keep our costs down, so that we can continue to offer affordable milk, bottled in glass. Our bottles are all thoroughly washed and sanitized prior to use.
